GREAT British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood has scored a sweet treat of his own – by signing up for Strictly Come Dancing.
The master baker — who stars in the BBC2 contest with Queen of Cakes Mary Berry — was approached after the pair’s popularity soared.
Bosses are hoping the silver-haired chef will attract the housewives’ vote when he dons sequins for the show’s September launch.
A Strictly source said: “The Great British Bake Off has been a huge ratings success for the BBC and we are delighted that Paul is now on board.
“The hope is that millions of fans who love to watch him and Mary deliver their baking verdicts will also tune in to watch him hit the dance floor. He has a reputation for being a tough cookie and it will be interesting to see how he copes once he is out of his comfort zone.”
A massive 4.7million viewers watched last week’s episode of the Great British Bake Off, which aims to find the nation’s best amateur baker from 12 hopefuls.
