As she celebrates her 50th birthday, Sharron Davies reveals the secrets to her stunning good looks in an exclusive interview in HELLO!.
The former swimming champion also unveils our newest Olympic hope for Rio 2016 – her 14-year-old daughter Grace who could turn out to be the next Jessica Ennis. Given the gene pool of Grace’s Olympian parents (her father is former sprint champion Derek Redmond), it’s hardly surprising that she excels at sport.
Showing off her fantastic figure in a bikini as she holidays in the Maldives with her family, mother-of-three Sharron jokes how she compares her abs with her 14-year-old daughter. “I just want to look the best I can for my age. Anyway, I have to compete with Grace now! She’s always showing me her six-pack.”
And the Olympic swimmer, who turned 50 earlier this month, is refreshingly honest as she reveals she has had botox and fillers to look this good. Speaking exclusively in HELLO! Sharron says: “I have botox every six months to iron out my frown line and fillers to plump out the skin at the side of my nose.
“I also had fillers once to get rid of trace lines that started appearing just above my upper lip. I don’t see that’s any different from having your teeth crowned or your hair coloured or your nails done.”
As well as revealing details of her training regime, she adds, “I did six hours training every day most of my sporting life and I began when I was 10. That’s a little like money in the bank. The body has a memory.”
Talking about her daughter Grace’s chances of heading to the Olympics to compete in track and field events, Sharron says: “She has a killer instinct. She wants to win and she really applies herself to her training. She’s incredibly driven.”
However she adds, “I was pushed so hard by my father when I was young that that I’ve always tried to encourage my kids to have as many interests as possible. While I want Gracie to success at sport, I make a point of not pushing her.”
