LAST FORMAL PORTRAIT OF MARGARET THATCHER AS PRIME MINISTER

LAST FORMAL PORTRAIT OF MARGARET THATCHER  AS PRIME MINISTER  AT No.10 DOWNING STREET  JUNE 1990

PHOTOGRAPHER BRIAN MOODY REMEMBERS:

” Much against my expectations she was very helpful and charming.  I showed her a polaroid of a picture I wanted  of her  sitting in the window.  She commented that the flowers weren’t really up to scratch and insisted on getting a fresh bunch from upstairs. The detail was very important to her.  I had 20 minutes with her and she new exactly what I wanted and what she wanted from the shoot.     It got to a point where I knew I didn’t need to take any more shots which is quite unusual with politicians.   She had no aides or PR’s there during the shoot which surprised me.  it was just me and the prime minster.   Not forgetting my assistant Charlie.”
