Cilla Black celebrates 50 years in showbiz
Her career hit the big-time in September 1963 when she was given a recording contract by Beatles manager, Brian Epstein. Her hits included her 1964 number one Anyone Who Had a Heart and songs such as Step Inside Love and Alfie.
She went on to become Britain’s most popular female TV presenter in the Eighties and Nineties, hosting Blind Date and Surprise Surprise.
Cilla Black will mark her 50th year in showbusiness by starring in a new sitcom. with her longtime pal and fellow entertainer Paul O’Grady.
The singer and presenter, will play long-suffering half-sister Tanya. When her character discovers her long-lost sibling is in prison, she ends up giving him a place to stay when he is released.
There’s no doubt the firm friends will have audiences in stitches with their quick wit and hilarious humour.
