TODAY The Mirror report that the 35-year-old is set to wed Laurence Akers – a magazine editor – who she met at a wedding earlier this year.
Having kept their romance a secret until now the couple, who share a 10 year age gap, have gone public.
But in an interview with the newspaper last year, she said: “I’m still single. You don’t want to be single for ever. But also, once you have your own life, your partner has to be someone very special because life is so busy.
A source told them last night: “She and Laurence are really happy. They have been low-key about the relationship but they sent a picture of themselves with the ring to family and friends on Friday.
Suranne, born in 1978, played Steve McDonald’s wife in the ITV soap for four years before quitting in 2004.
