Sports-mad Kirsty Gallacher can’t wait for the first kick-off . I love my football and the World Cup is one of those times when everyone gets excited, even people who don’t like football.”
Kirsty’s regular job sees her anchoring the afternoon slot for Sky Sports News. The channel won’t be screening any of the World Cup matches live but she has no intention of missing out on the action. “We will be doing updates so I’ll be able to keep an eye on what’s happening,” she says.
But Kirsty, whose father is former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher, says her first love is golf. “Each year I go to the Masters at Augusta and it’s such a wonderful place to be,” she says. “It’s so exclusive and traditional. This year my cousin Stephen Gallacher was playing there which made it extra special. He did well.”
