The 77-year-old cooking guru is hotly tipped to be stepping into 81-year-old Mary’s shoes on the GBBO’s reincarnation on Channel 4.
According to reports, she’s in talks to sign on the dotted line for a £200,000 deal to join Paul Hollywood, 51, as a judge on the baking series.
It’s a staggering amount when compared to the £70,000-a-series given to Paul and Mary by the Beeb.
‘Prue is a cooking legend and has a lot of respect in the food world,’ a source told The Sun.
‘Bake Off had a relatively low budget which didn’t increase even as its popularity went through the roof.
‘That meant the stars were left on very low salaries in relation to the show’s huge success.’
However, Prue’s potential £200k is little compared to what Paul is believed to be earning per series, which is a whopping £400,000.
